Mixed Methods
Provided by: UTC1
(EQF level: 8)
This dynamic one-day module introduces participants to the principles, designs, and practical applications of mixed-methods research. Through an engaging combination of conceptual input and applied analysis, the module explores how integrating qualitative and quantitative approaches can enrich research at multiple stages¿sharpening research questions, strengthening methodological choices, and deepening interpretation of findings.
The morning session offers an interactive lecture that builds a solid foundation for understanding major mixed-methods designs, strategies for data integration, and the epistemological debates underlying this approach. In the afternoon, participants work hands-on with examples from the management literature. Through group analysis and discussion of published articles, participants examine how mixed-methods designs operate in practice and reflect on how such approaches might support their own doctoral research.
Delivered in a hybrid format, the module blends expert guidance, collaborative activities, and practical exercises, ensuring that all participants¿whether attending online or in person¿can actively engage with mixed-methods concepts and apply them to real research scenarios.
This course takes place on 8th April, 9am-5pm. Applications close on 6th April.
