From Idea to Implementation: Developing Your Own Research Project
Provided by: UMA
(EQF level: 8)
The most common way we experience research is as readers of completed studies – but how do you author your own? This module is intended to introduce students to developing their own project by guiding them through the process of transforming research ideas into a written piece of work. Delivered through a blend of lectures, in-depth readings of existing literature, in-class discussions, and collaborative work, the course will move from passive consumption to active creation. In terms of methods, the focus will be on experimental and behavioral economics. The course will provide a forum for exchanging ideas, refining experimental designs, possibly presenting preliminary data. Each student will have the opportunity to lead in-class conversations, pushing forward their individual or joint research ideas. Participants are expected to support one another in their efforts to develop their projects.
Attendance and participation in discussion and presentation of own research. Writing a research proposal. Grades are assigned on a pass/non-pass basis.
